We often get calls from clients wanting to get good organic positions for products during the holidays, only days or weeks before the holidays. The time for planning your web strategy for any given holiday should be done several month before the given holiday.  So if you are reading this blog during Thanksgiving than I would suggest that you should be strategizing about Valentine’s or Mother’s day and beyond for a website.  Get your products that are most appealing to your consumers during that holiday and start preparing good content related to those items.

Fast Results for Online Marketing

The best method for short term results is to engage your social media.

The holidays mean more time off work and more social time.  Be active with your post and monitor your social accounts frequently.  People need gifts and are hyped up for impulse buys.  The means you need to get your customers from social media to your site and the pages need to be optimized for action.

If an SEO company or package is claiming quick results, most likely they are using methods against the terms of service of the search engines and you site could end up being the turkey if the site is penalized.   The tactics that are used for quick rankings can and do work, but rarely will your site be doing well on the next holiday.

Of course, you could result the old standby: spend the day filming your cat, or fielding hits from your children without a cup, in the rare chance you capture something good to go viral. Just make sure you have holiday props in background and the url on the video.
